I. Focus on Art & Maintaining an Instructional Environment

This studio is a dedicated space for technical instruction and creative practice. To maintain a productive learning environment, we ask that all conversations remain focused on art and the curriculum at hand.

Our workshops are designed for focused study. To respect the time and experience of your fellow students and instructors, please refrain from introducing outside social, political, or personal topics during class.

II. Attendance, Cancellations & Credits

Booking & Session Use

To ensure the quality of the Atelier experience, sessions are booked as full 4-hour blocks.

  • Arrival & Setup: Doors open 15 minutes before the session begins. Please do not arrive earlier, as the instructor needs this time to prepare the studio.
  • Easels: We have a limited number of studio easels available on a first-come, first-served basis. We suggest bringing your own portable easel if possible to ensure you have a setup you like.
  • Session Completion: To keep our instructor’s focus on the art and not the clock, we book by the session. You’re welcome to arrive late or leave early to fit your schedule, but each entry counts as one session toward your credits.
  • Cancellations & Refunds: Because our workshops are small and planned around each participant, we don’t offer refunds once a workshop or package is purchased.
  • 24-Hour Notice: If you’re feeling under the weather or a conflict pops up, let us know at least 24 hours in advance and we’ll happily pause your credit for a future session.
  • No-Show Policy: Because seats are limited and the instructor prepares for each artist, sessions missed without 24-hour notice will be forfeit.
  • Emergency Situations: If something urgent happens last minute, please reach out and we’ll do our best to work with you.
  • Transfers: You are welcome to gift or transfer your unused sessions to another artist. Simply notify us in writing of the change.

III. Enrollment & Expiration

Expiration of Credits

To ensure studio availability for all students, workshop passes have the following lifespans from the date of purchase:

  • 3-Session Enrollment: Expires after 3 months.
  • 7-Session Enrollment: Expires after 6 months.
  • 15-Session Enrollment: Expires after 10 months.
Minimum Enrollment Policy
  • Transfer to a session at a different day/time.
  • Receive credit toward a future class.

IV. Studio Logistics & Safety

Materials, Storage & Privacy
  • Solvents: To keep the air healthy for everyone, only odorless mineral spirits (like Gamsol) are allowed. Please do not bring turpentine or high-odor solvents into the studio.
  • Storage: Due to limited space, the studio cannot store personal supplies or wet paintings between classes. Please plan to take your work and materials with you after each session.
  • Photography: You are welcome to photograph your own work. To respect the privacy of others, please ask before filming demonstrations or photographing other students and their art.
Minimum Enrollment Policy
  • Transfer to a session at a different day/time.
  • Receive credit toward a future class.
